BeesWax
Beeswax is the wax produced by bees in order to build their honeycombs.
It’s carefully shaped by the worker bees into the hexagonal cells that make up the colony’s honeycomb.
Beeswax remains solid through a wide temperature range, allowing it to withstand the fluctuations in seasons when it comes to beauty products.
It contains about 300 compounds such as alkanes, acids, esters, polyesters and hydroxy esters, and is a natural emulsifier that helps cosmetics and skin care lotions to bind. Beeswax has a lovely natural scent and helps to keep the skin intensely moisturised.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is linked to some potential benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds.
We have chosen organic coconut oil due to exceptionally high levels of lauric and caprylic acid (second to human breast milk). These acids are anti-fungal, antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiviral.
The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.
Pink Grapefruit
Pink Grapefruit is used in skincare as it has great antiseptic and antibacterial properties which clean and clear congested skin.
Pink Grapefruit itself contains natural salicylic acid which is known to prevent and care for blemished and oil-prone skin.
Packed with antioxidants which help to combat free radicals the skin may be exposed to, grapefruits are vitamin powerhouses for the skin. Free radicals, naturally occurring in pollution and sunlight, can be detrimental to the skin as they attach onto and mutate healthy skin cells.
